What is infrastructure
It's not just about roads and bridges. It's about sewers and water safety. It's about adequate and affordable housing to support the workforce. Access and protection of our public lands, parks, lakes and mountains cannot be overlooked when we focus on infrastructure.
Ensuring the entire system of infrastructure required to absorb the growth while ensuring that we maintain our quality of life for all citizens. We do not want to create an environment where only the wealthy thrive.
Supporting and managing growth
We are growing at unprecedented levels and that growth is expected to continue. We cannot stop the growth, but we CAN approach infrastructure with systemic thoughtfulness and rationality. We can make sure that the people who live and work here - the middle class and below - are not left to pay the bill. Our legislators like to play "shift the burden" games to make it look like they are lowering our taxes while we make up the difference in a hundred different ways.
Our legislators are distracted by a hyper focus on national culture wars and forget to help our communities benefit from tax dollars that are typically routed to more urban areas.
